Introduction to Mindfulness

This short, 3 week course offers a brief introduction to mindfulness practice.  We will also explore some mindfulness themes and you will learn some practices that you can use in your everyday life. (For the 8 week Mindfulness for Life course click here)

Sessions will cover a different theme each week and include meditation, teaching and reflection.  We will explore: the scattered and wandering mind and how we can train our attention, exploring ways of knowing and being and the difference between reacting and responding.

Each session is one hour and there will be short practices for you to try at home

This 3 week introductory course is ideal for those who want to find out more about mindfulness but don’t want to commit to an 8 week course.

Mindfulness has been proven to help with anxiety, stress, the effects of tinnitus and can improve wellbeing.

Each weekly session will be a combination of guided meditation, cognitive exercises, reflection and discussion.

After each session you will be given daily home practice to help you integrate mindfulness into your daily life. This will be around an hour each day and will include formal guided meditation as well as bringing mindfulness into daily tasks or events and creating new mindful habits.

During each session you can lay on a yoga mat, kneel or sit on a meditation stool or cushion or sit on a chair.  You may wish to have extra cushions and a blanket to hand and wear loose comfortable clothing.

  • This course is delivered via Zoom with a small group of up to 10 people

  • Captions and chat will be enabled for each session

  • 1-1 follow up call after course ends
